Safety Tips
Stay safe when buying and selling on BentaBike.
For Buyers
- Always meet in a public place — a mall, coffee shop, or police station are ideal.
- Bring a friend or family member when meeting a seller for the first time.
- Inspect the bike thoroughly before paying. Test ride it if possible.
- Verify the bike's serial number has not been tampered with.
- Never send payment before seeing the item in person.
- Be cautious of prices that seem too good to be true.
- Ask for proof of ownership — original receipt or registration.
- Check that the seller's phone number and profile look legitimate.
For Sellers
- Meet buyers in a public place — never invite strangers to your home.
- Don't share your exact home address in your listing.
- Accept payment in cash or via GCash/Maya after the buyer inspects the item.
- Be wary of buyers who want to pay via bank transfer before meeting.
- Take clear photos of the item before handing it over.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, cancel the deal.
- Block and report suspicious users to BentaBike.
Red Flags to Watch Out For
- Seller refuses to meet in person or always has an excuse.
- Price is significantly below market value.
- Seller asks for deposit or full payment upfront.
- Profile was just created with no other listings.
- Poor quality or stock photos used for the listing.
- Seller is pushy or rushes you to decide quickly.
